License Agreement
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This License Agreement ("Agreement") governs the use of php2shell ("the Software"), the PHP upgrade compatibility scanner and code migration assistant. By activating a licence key or using a paid plan you accept this Agreement.
1. Licence grant
Subject to your payment of the fees and your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software for your own internal development work, including for the projects you are responsible for. The licence is granted while you hold an active subscription to one of the tiers in section 2, or when you activate a licence key that you purchased.
2. Licence tiers
| Tier | Price | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | The compatibility scan, the runtime advisory check, the issue list with file and line numbers and the HTML report. It never renews and never charges. |
| Fixer | $29 per month or $290 per year | Everything in Free, plus the dry-run diff preview, the one-click automatic fixing, the change summary and the PDF export. |
| Fixer + Verify | $99 per month or $990 per year | Everything in Fixer, plus the batch project handling, the PHPUnit verification and the included AI review credits. |
| Token quality pack | 10 credits for $9, 50 credits for $39 or 200 credits for $129 | Prepaid credits for the AI assisted review: one credit covers one review. A pack is a one-time purchase, an addition to a plan rather than a substitute for one. |
The licence tiers are subscriptions. A paid tier renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time from the subscription page; your access then continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. A token quality pack is a one-time purchase: it is never renewed and it is never charged automatically.
Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, our default payment channel and a PCI-DSS certified payment processor, with Creem retained as a backup payment channel. Card details are entered on the payment processor's hosted checkout and never reach the php2shell servers.
3. Restrictions
You must not:
- resell, sublicense, rent, lease or share your licence key or your account,
- circumvent, reverse engineer or attempt to remove the protection of the Software, except where that restriction is prohibited by law,
- use the Software to build a competing product or to publish the rule set as your own,
- use the Software in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Licence keys
- A licence key is bound to one account once it is activated.
- You can release a key from your account from the dashboard; the key then becomes available again.
- Keys that were never activated can be cancelled and refunded within 14 days of the purchase, as described in the Refund Policy.
- We may revoke a key that was obtained fraudulently or used in breach of this Agreement.
5. Ownership
The Software, including the rule set, the detection logic, the report templates and the documentation, remains our property. We grant you no rights to it beyond the licence described above. You keep all rights in the code you analyse.
6. Third party components
The Software follows the transformation rules of the Rector open source project (MIT licence). Other open source components are used under their respective licences. We grant you the right to use the Software for commercial and internal purposes.
7. Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The analysis and the automatic changes are produced on a best-effort basis, may contain errors and may be incomplete. You must review them and validate them in a test environment before they reach production.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, downtime, a failed upgrade or any business interruption.
9. Term and termination
This Agreement applies while you use the Software. It ends when your subscription ends - at the end of the period you have already paid for, or when you cancel it - when you release your licence key, when you delete your account, or when we terminate your access for a breach. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete the copies you installed.
10. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of php2shell is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
